A CITY OF VULTURES
O my Nigeria, the beautiful bride; she stands in solitude.  Now a widow, once a great and respected amongst nations; shamelessly raped, depraved and treacherously devoured by vultures.
A nation damned in its fragility; princes rebel and now companions of thieves and frivolities. Mass exodus of the future, thrown into captivity in strange land; honourable men farmished and the multitudes dried up in thirst.
A nation inflamed in mourning,  derived solace in drunkenness. Hell now speak with an enlarge mouth consuming the innocence.
What a consumed nation, descending to moral degradation.  Alas,  a wasted and desolate generation; a city basseted with thorns on palaces, nettles and brambles in fortress; a habitation of dragons, a court for Owls.
What a nation, honoured in corruption; the greatest employer of labour, which ate deep in governance bursting the banks of moral rectitude.
The wrath in the land; darkened with black cloud, wickedness burneth and kindle the people like fuel in fire.
A high crescendo of invaders in mountain tops and thickets of the forest; aliens with weapon of indignation mount up like the lifting of smoke to destroy.
A nation filled with the living dead; held in the pang of sorrow and pain like a travailed woman. The citizens faces inflamed in wrath; with fierce and anger. A land polluted and desolate in degradation;  the sun and moon bowed down to Nigeria;  darkness envelopes her, as the people grope in blindness.
Oh my Nigeria! I wept with sore displeasure night and day; mount like a lifting smoke.  Full of knowledge of the devil as water covers the sea.
Your indignation destroys the land; water failed the sea; rivers are wasted and dried up, like the brook of defence left empty.
My Nigeria! My Nigeria!! My Nigeria!!! Were is your hope to live;  mourn not at the gates of your masters. Look unto heavens for the priest of hope to comfort: instead of peddling in the cesspool of immorality,  mourning and languishing in shame
