Senate President Godswill Akpabio has appealed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership to expedite the release of the final list of successful candidates for the 2027 elections, warning that uncertainty is fueling anxiety among party lawmakers. Speaking at the inauguration of the APC National Campaign Council for the Ekiti governorship election, Akpabio said many legislators are worried about their political futures, joking that some have developed “hypertension” as they await the party’s decision following the May primary elections. Meanwhile, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda praised Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s performance, while Campaign Council Chairman Governor Uba Sani expressed confidence in securing a landslide victory, targeting a significant increase in votes and citing President Tinubu’s reforms and broad political support for Oyebanji.
