Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has ordered a full investigation into a private aircraft that landed on a road under construction near Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, after a missed approach to Asaba Airport and later departed for Lagos without regulatory approval. While all four crew members escaped unharmed, authorities say the aircraft took off without clearance, with Air Traffic Control notified only after it was airborne—a move described as a serious breach of aviation regulations and security procedures. In response, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) grounded the aircraft, placed the crew under regulatory review, suspended the operator’s Permit for Non-Commercial Flights (PNCF), and launched a comprehensive investigation in collaboration with NAMA and the NSIB.
