From my understanding, and to the best of my knowledge, I don’t think anyone has come forward to say the national leadership demanded money for tickets or that the National Working Committee sold positions. The national party usually deploys officials to conduct primaries, and in every party, PDP, APC, ADC, these situations can arise. When there is a surge in interest and membership, especially where people believe the party can win, competition becomes very high. In that context of direct primaries, there is often strong contestation and sometimes desperation among aspirants, which can lead to misunderstandings and counter-claims.
