'No political system is flawless, and in Nigeria, some individuals are so creepy that they may always find ways to bypass any measures intended to enhance governance and continue to greedily gain from the system unjustifiably. This is likely to occur with the establishment of a state police force, especially given the presence of some unscrupulous, terrible, and power-hungry political leaders who operate with impunity and without accountability. Nevertheless, a well-trained and adequately equipped state police can be more effective in combating terrorism, as they are familiar with the local landscape, and the state police force will increase the overall number of law enforcement personnel available to address crime ultimately in the nation. While there may be concerns about local political leaders misusing the state police, these issues can be managed more effectively than the threats posed by terrorism, insurgency, and kidnapping. We will continue to refine the governance of the state police over time until it functions optimally. For now, our priority should be to tackle the challenges posed by malicious elements rampaging, killing, and destroying our people.'
