The Senate has given the South East Development Commission one week to account for N16.6 billion in federal funds — including a questioned N153 million rental for a single office and N2.5 billion in unexplained expenditures.
The committee, chaired by Sen. Orji Kalu, says the commission’s financial records are “completely unacceptable.” The SEDC’s managing director has until June 23 to submit full documentation or face further scrutiny.
