Your Excellencies to the Offices of the President, the Lagos State Government, and the Nigerian Judiciary, Courts 240 million Nigerians are writing to urgently appeal for a full and transparent review of the case involving the young Nigerian reported to have been jailed at the age of 14. 240 million Nigerians are deeply concerned that a child who should be in school may instead be held in detention, and we respectfully request immediate clarification and action.

Nigerians are troubled by the pattern in which young Nigerians are swiftly arrested and detained for decades, while violent groups such as boko haram have inflicted harm on communities for decades without equivalent accountability. This disparity continues to erode public trust in the justice system.

We respectfully demand the following:

A prompt and independent verification of the boy’s true age and circumstances. Let him go home he should be in school not in jail we demand free schools in the 36 states 774 LGA if Nigerian youths are in free schools' crime will be zero

His immediate release if he is indeed a minor, in accordance with Nigerian and international child‑rights laws. The global world has been watching the Nigerian government past/present courts for decades do the needful let him go home

Assurance that no harm comes to him or his sister during this process.

Provision of appropriate support, including access to education, healthcare, and safe housing, should the investigation confirm wrongful detention.

We also demand for broader reforms that many Nigerians have long demanded:

Installation of CCTV cameras across all 36 states and 774 local government areas.

Comprehensive police reform, including mandatory body‑worn cameras for officers. Abolish DSS

A justice system that prioritizes the protection and development of Nigerian youths in the 36 states 774 LGA

We demand the government to focus law‑enforcement efforts on those who have caused widespread violence and suffering, rather than on young Nigerians striving to survive and build a future.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. We ask for swift, transparent action in the interest of justice and the protection of Nigerian children.
