Your Excellency Mr. President, INEC Chairman, Courts, Opposition parties, independent candidates 240 million Nigerians are
writing as concerned Nigerian who is deeply troubled by the growing loss of public trust in our electoral institutions. With the Independent National Electoral Commission announcing June 26, 2026, as the date for releasing access codes for political parties to upload candidate details for the 2027 general elections, many Nigerians expected this to signal improved transparency and efficiency.

However, millions of Nigerians across the 36 states and 774 local government areas continue to report that the INEC website is not functioning properly and that they cannot access information or obtain their Permanent Voter Cards. This ongoing difficulty raises serious questions about accessibility and preparedness.

240 million Nigerians also remain concerned about the lack of real-time electronic transmission of election results. Funds were reportedly allocated for this purpose, yet the public has not seen clear evidence of implementation. The continued reliance on hand counting during primary elections has further weakened confidence in the process.

Nigerians were promised reliable electricity and affordable or free internet access many years ago. Today, millions still do not have the basic infrastructure needed to participate fully in a modern, technology-driven electoral system. When real-time transmission is not used, and when digital systems fail, it becomes harder for citizens to believe that the process is transparent.

We respectfully urge the Commission to address these concerns directly:

Why is the INEC website still inaccessible to 240 million Nigerians?

What happened to the funds allocated for real-time electronic transmission of results?

Why were primary election results hand counted instead of transmitted electronically?

What steps will INEC take to restore public trust ahead of the 2027 elections?

Nigerians demand a system that works, one that is transparent, modern, and reliable. Strengthening digital infrastructure and ensuring real-time transmission of results would go a long way toward rebuilding confidence.
