Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artiste Shatta Wale stated that Nigerian #Afrobeats’ "Big 3", Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy, serve as motivation in his efforts to expand Ghanaian music internationally.

“I met Davido first. He came to me and told me his dad loved a song I did way back. We had a very good relationship, but in life, when things start moving, they move fast and we have to accept that. That’s why people don’t really see me and Davido together on camera that much,” he said.

“With Burna Boy, he is like my twin brother. He came to Ghana when things were a little rough. Now, he is busy too. Wizkid has always been a laid-back person. The only time I really had a chance to meet him was when we had a show together. After that, we met once or twice at East Legon in my area. I feel he is busy too”, he added.

“I see all of them as motivation because I also have a mission in my country to push the agenda of going international. If they have been able to break through, then it means I should keep working on my craft and gradually we will have a good collaboration.”
