( Different people are online for different reasons, don't let yourself get distracted. Carve your own niche and don't loose focus)....
Someone in here posted the above on her wall, I’ve been observing a lot on here lately that aligns with the statement shared above, which prompted me to respond accordingly, read below.
When we look at how digital platforms actually function at scale, it presents a slightly incomplete picture.
Yes, people come online for different reasons, and focus is still important. But if everyone is encouraged to focus individually, operate in isolation without meaningful interaction, the platform gradually becomes fragmented. We end up with many independent voices, but very little real engagement, discovery, or community energy.
A healthy digital ecosystem is not just about creators staying focused. It is about balance in structure. You need creators, brands, and service providers, but even more importantly, you need a large base of consumers who are actively watching, engaging, reacting, and sharing content.
In reality, the strongest platforms are not creator-heavy. They are consumer-driven. A practical balance would be something like 30 percent creators, brands, and service providers, and about 70 percent consumers. Because one creator or brand can serve and influence a very large number of people, but without a strong consumer base, content loses reach, interaction, and relevance.
This is also why platforms like FB remain consistently active 24/7. They are not dominated only by creators, brands and service providers. They have a wide mix of everyday users who primarily consume content, interact with it, and keep the ecosystem alive through constant engagement. That balance is what makes the platform feel alive and active.
Content creation alone is not enough. If you observe most posts in the 'For You' and 'Following' feed, you will notice very low or no engagement levels. Even though #LekeeLekee surfaces content from different users in the 'For You' section, making posts visible regardless of follower count or page size, visibility on its own does not guarantee interaction.
Without consumers who engage with it, even the best content becomes invisible over time. The real strength of any platform lies in circulation of attention, where content is created, consumed, reacted to, and shared continuously.
So while focus is important, a more complete perspective is this: stay focused on your role, but also recognize the importance of being part of a balanced ecosystem where creators, brands, service providers, and a strong consumer base all interact.
Because in the end, platforms with 100% active userbase do not thrive from creation alone, they thrive from consumption, interaction, and community participation working together in the right proportion.
