NNEKA'S DIARY VII

After a while, Priscilla left. Standing there, I heard myself talking softly.

"Angela, I don't know you and you don't know me. It's a pity you had to die the way you did. If given the opportunity, I will take good care of your husband and love your daughter like she was my own."

Immediately after those words, I felt a strong wind lift my hair and skirt. I held my skirt down and looked around. The breeze wasn't everywhere — it seemed to be only around me.
Goosebumps covered my body.
I let out a sound that made Priscilla rush back.

"What is wrong with you?" she asked, holding me. "You're shaking. I saw you talking to yourself. Why were you standing here staring at the graveside?"

She led me back to my room. I begged her not to leave because I was scared.

I stayed indoors until it was time to leave.

Back home, even my ever-curious sister Grace noticed something was wrong. I wasn't in the mood for stories or conversation. Feeling feverish, I asked her to boil water for me and prepare hot pepper soup.

That night, as I lay in bed, my mind returned to Kunle.
What was the meaning of what happened at the graveside, was it a message? And if it was, what was God trying to tell me?

For the first time, I admitted to myself that I was falling in love with Kunle.

I knelt down and prayed, asking God for wisdom and direction. I didn't want to make a mistake.

The next morning in church, during the prayer session, I found myself praying for Kunle and his daughter, Mary. It was only at the burial that I discovered Angela and Kunle had a daughter together — a four-year-old girl without a mother. It broke my heart.

The pastor's sermon that day was titled "God of Purpose."
He said that everything God allows has a purpose, and that instead of questioning God, we should seek understanding.
The message felt directed at me.

After service, I decided to seek counsel from Pastor's wife, Mrs. Chucks — a woman I deeply admire for the way she balances her faith, family, career, and ministry.

I planned to see her during the week.

To be continued …..

Rejoice Osunwoke: What have we not said about Nneka already?🤷 At this point, I will watch and see what that wave of emotion called love would do to Nneka.
POULTRY AND FISHERY: The more I read, the more I'm thrilled with suspense and anticipation. I love it 😊
Mild Uchenna: This is getting deeper and more emotional. Nneka's feelings have clearly moved beyond curiosity, but I hope she remembers that strong emotions, grief, and sympathy can sometimes make situations appear clearer than they really are. Seeking counsel before making conclusions is probably the wisest deci...
Comfort Yako Asala: From the graveside episode to reminiscing about Kunle and her love for him and then to the pastor's sermon, Nneka needs all the counselling she can get and if applicable a deliverance session to be honest 😂🤣🤣
The journey continues
Like minds🫂: Is it safe to say that the obsession of Nneka over Chike could be what killed his wife?
This can be further justified by Nneka holding on to a fragment of the pastor's teaching that says " God allows everything that happens for a purpose" in other words God allowed Chike's wife to die leaving behind...
