Your Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Your Excellencies, Governors of the 36 States of Nigeria, Honorable Chairmen of the 774 Local Government Areas, 240 million Nigerians write to you with deep concern and a strong sense of urgency on behalf of millions of Nigerians who continue to hope for meaningful action on education, security, and youth development. Recent reports from The Nation Newspaper and Book Drive Africa’s official communications highlight the inspiring work being done by Book Drive Africa in partnership with The Book Haven Foundation. Their initiative to set up reading corners across Lagos, Ile-Ife, Ibadan, and Abuja—teaching creative writing and introducing children to technology—demonstrates what is possible when vision meets commitment.
However, the scale of Nigeria’s challenges requires national leadership and decisive action. With over 240 million Nigerians and significant national savings reportedly amounting to $500 million, we demand the Federal Government, the 36 State Governments, and all 774 LGAs to prioritize free, accessible education for every Nigerian child. This includes building schools, housing, and hospitals across all states and local governments, and supporting organizations like Book Drive Africa that are already doing the work on the ground.
Your Excellency, we also call for immediate and comprehensive action to address the root causes of boko haram. For decades, Nigerian children have suffered unimaginable trauma. Reports indicate that 416 children dropped off by boko haram remain without proper reunification, while others continue to be used for public appearances rather than being returned to their families. This must end. We demand for urgent steps to reunite these children with their families and provide them with long-term rehabilitation, safety, and dignity.
Leadership begins at the top. We respectfully demand you to take bold, transparent, and compassionate action to:
Provide free education across all 36 states and 774 LGAs.
Build free schools, housing, and hospitals using the nation’s $500 million USD savings.
Address the root causes of boko haram and reunite all displaced children with their families. Kindly stop the photo ops with Nigerian children
Create sustainable jobs for Nigeria’s 240 million youths and graduates in the 36 states 774 LGA
Deliver on long-promised national infrastructure, including stable electricity and free public Wi-Fi/data.
Nigeria’s future depends on the decisions made today 6/9/2026. We demand that you act swiftly and decisively. The time being lost is time our children, our youth, and our nation cannot afford. This is a humble request sir no disrespect we are tired of lies/slogans and failed promises we demand to see visible progress now
