The Federal Government has announced plans to integrate rail connectivity across Lagos airport terminals, linking the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), General Aviation Terminal (GAT) and MMA2 to improve passenger movement and strengthen Lagos’ status as a regional aviation hub. Speaking at the Invest Lagos 3.0 Summit, Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo revealed that the project, in collaboration with the Lagos State Government, will extend the Lagos rail network directly into the airport complex. He also disclosed that President Bola Tinubu has approved a $500 million (N712 billion) modernisation of MMIA, including terminal upgrades, new access roads, a skywalk and expanded passenger facilities. The initiative follows the resolution of the long-running MMA2 concession dispute and is expected to boost investor confidence, improve connectivity and position Lagos as a leading gateway for international travel and commerce in Africa.
