Your Excellencies, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Opposition parties, independent candidates 240 million Nigerians are writing to respectfully draw your attention to an important matter concerning millions of Nigerians living with disabilities, as well as the broader need for equitable national development.

Brazil recently expanded its nationwide accessibility program, delivering 186 fully adapted vans in 2024 to support people with disabilities, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups. These vehicles are used across municipalities to ensure mobility, dignity, and inclusion.

Nigeria has more than 240 million citizens, many of whom live with disabilities or mobility challenges. With the reported savings of $500 million, it is both possible and necessary to invest directly in the welfare of disabled Nigerians across all 36 states and 774 local government areas. This funding can provide accessible buses, vans, and community support services that will transform lives. No lies no slogans

We respectfully demand your administration to prioritize:

Nationwide accessible transportation for disabled Nigerians

Renovation and modernization of all airports across the 36 states, rather than focusing on a single airport

Job creation for millions of Nigerian youths and graduates through infrastructure and construction projects in the 36 states 774 LGA

Addressing root causes of insecurity, including boko haram, by investing in communities and opportunities

Ensuring the safe return of Nigerian children kidnapped since 1999

Building new public hospitals, schools, and free housing for vulnerable Nigerian families

Large-scale investment in farming and agriculture across all 774 LGAs to achieve food security

These initiatives would not only improve quality of life but also strengthen national unity, reduce poverty, and create sustainable economic growth.

We demand in your leadership and your commitment to building a Nigeria that works for everyone, especially the most vulnerable.

Thank you for your attention to these urgent matters.

Respectfully about 35 million Nigerians are currently estimated to be living with disabilities. This figure comes from multiple recent datasets released in 2026 by the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), which applied the global benchmark that persons with disabilities make up roughly 15% of a country’s population.
