Your Excellencies Mr. President, opposition parties' independent candidates 240 million Nigerians are demanding Nigerian Air Force accountability
Respectfully To the Leadership of the Nigerian Air Force, Federal Republic of Nigeria. 240 million Nigerians are writing to express deep concern over the repeated incidents in which Nigerian Air Force (NAF) operations have resulted in the deaths of innocent Nigerians. These tragedies—documented by reputable national and international news organizations—have caused immense pain to families and communities, and they raise urgent questions about transparency, accountability, and the protection of civilian life.

Across several states, including Kaduna, Yobe, Borno, and Niger, airstrikes intended for criminal elements have instead struck civilian gatherings, homes, and public spaces. In each case, Nigerians have been told these were “mistakes,” “intelligence failures,” or “operational errors.” While no military is immune to error, the frequency and scale of these incidents demand a higher standard of responsibility.

As Nigerians, we are entitled to the truth.
We are entitled to safety.
We are entitled to a military that protects us—not one whose errors repeatedly cost civilian lives.

Therefore, we respectfully demand the following:

1. Independent Investigations
An impartial, transparent inquiry into all past airstrike incidents that resulted in civilian casualties. Findings should be made public, not kept internal.

2. Public Accountability Measures
Clear consequences for negligence, operational misconduct, or intelligence failures that contributed to civilian harm.

3. Improved Intelligence and Target Verification
A commitment to modernizing surveillance, reconnaissance, and verification protocols to prevent misidentification of civilian gatherings.

4. Compensation and Support for Nigerians no lies no slogans
Families who lost loved ones or property must receive formal apologies, financial compensation, and long‑term support.

5. Civilian Protection Protocols
A published framework outlining how NAF will minimize civilian harm during operations, aligned with international humanitarian standards.

6. Regular Public Reporting
Quarterly updates on reforms, investigations, and steps taken to prevent future tragedies.

The Nigerian people respect and support the Armed Forces. We recognize the dangers faced daily by personnel fighting terrorism and banditry. But respect for the military must go hand‑in‑hand with accountability. Civilian lives must never be treated as collateral or dismissed as unfortunate footnotes.

Nigeria cannot build trust, unity, or national security without transparency.
We urge the Nigerian Air Force to demonstrate leadership by acknowledging past failures, correcting systemic weaknesses, and committing to reforms that protect every Nigerian life.

The country is watching.
History is watching.
And the families who lost loved ones deserve justice.
