Your Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Opposition parties, independent candidates 240 million Nigerians are writing to express deep concern and frustration over the ongoing abductions of Nigerian schoolchildren, particularly the pupils and teachers kidnapped from Yawota and Ahoro-Esinele communities in Oriire LGA, Oyo State, now missing for over five weeks.

Multiple independent news sources have confirmed that the Nigerian Air Force has deployed an aerial surveillance aircraft to support rescue efforts. While this action is noted, it raises difficult questions about the speed and priority of the federal response.

When the families of the Honorable Minister of Power were abducted, the government mobilized swiftly, and they were rescued within days. Nigerians are asking why the same urgency has not been applied to the rescue of innocent children who have been in captivity for more than a month.

Furthermore, Nigeria has demonstrated the capacity to assist neighboring countries, including the Republic of Benin, in times of crisis. It is therefore painful to see that similar decisive action has not been taken to protect Nigerian children on Nigerian soil.

Globally, countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and many others do not negotiate or pay ransom to terrorists. Yet in Nigeria, this practice continues, enabling further kidnappings and undermining national security.

We also call on the Nigerian Air Force to ensure transparency and accountability in all operations. 240 million Nigerians must not be told that Nigerian casualties are "accidents" when evidence suggests otherwise. The lives of our children and Nigerians must be treated with dignity and seriousness.

Respectfully Mr. President, Nigerians demand the following:

Immediate and safe return of all kidnapped children, including those abducted since 1999.

A clear national policy that prioritizes the protection of schools and vulnerable communities.

Provision of free housing, free healthcare, and free education across all 36 states and 774 LGAs, as part of a long-term strategy to rebuild trust and strengthen national stability.

The lives of Nigerian children must never be politicized. We demand your administration to act with urgency, transparency, and compassion.
