Kudos to the troops for the successful rescue operation in Borno. Every life saved is worth celebrating. That said, it still beats me why, with the level of technology available today, satellite surveillance, drones, mobile tracking, and intelligence systems, the Federal Government seems unable to consistently track, locate, and dismantle these criminal networks before they strike. Nigerians deserve not just rescues, but proactive security measures that prevent these incidents from happening in the first place.
