The day software stopped being software was the day I realised the code wasn't the product.

The product was the outcome.

Customers didn't care about services, databases, or APIs.

Finance cared about trust.

Operations cared about stability.

Management cared about visibility.

Customers cared that it simply worked.

That's when I stopped seeing software as code—and started seeing it as a system of people, processes, decisions, and outcomes.
