Your Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kano state government, opposition parties, independent candidates 240 million Nigerians are
writing to highlight a recent development in Kano State that reflects a positive step toward public health, social welfare, and responsible family formation in the 36 states 774 LGA

The Kano State Hisbah Board has finalized arrangements to medically screen 3,000 intending couples—1,500 men and 1,500 women—before their government‑supported mass wedding. Screening begins Monday, June 8, 2026, across 24 local government areas. The tests include HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, genotype compatibility, drug use, and other STI screenings. Only couples who pass the medical screening will be allowed to participate.

This initiative demonstrates a model that can strengthen family health and reduce preventable medical and social challenges nationwide. As long as marriages involve consenting adults—men and women who are of age and not school‑age children who must be in free schools—this type of screening is a responsible public health measure.

We respectfully demand the Federal Government to consider encouraging similar standards across all 36 states and 774 local government areas. Mandatory pre‑marital health screening for adults could help reduce disease transmission, prevent incompatible genotype pairings, and promote healthier families.

Beyond marriage health standards, Nigerians continue to demand for broader national progress. We wish to emphasize the following priorities that 240 million Nigerians demand essential:

Job creation for our growing population across all 36 states and 774 LGAs

Construction of free housing, hospitals, and expanded access to quality education

Strong investment in farming and agriculture to boost food security

Delivery of reliable free electricity and the long‑promised access to free or affordable internet/data

Addressing the root causes of boko haram and other insecurity challenges

Securing the release of children and Nigerians kidnapped since 1999 no lies no slogans

Ensuring that national development efforts are rooted in truth, transparency, and measurable action

These issues remain central to the well‑being, dignity, and future of over 240 million Nigerians. A coordinated national strategy that strengthens health, security, and economic opportunity would go a long way toward restoring confidence and accelerating progress.
