Your Excellencies President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor of Edo State, 240 million Nigerians are
writing out of deep concern following the recent fire that destroyed Anambra Supermarket in the Ikpoba Hill area of Benin City. Nigerians are relieved that no lives were lost, and it is our demand that every necessary step is taken to ensure that no Nigerian is ever put at risk by preventable incidents of this kind.

This tragedy highlights the urgent need to address the root causes of such fires, including electrical faults, infrastructure weaknesses, and safety compliance gaps. Nigerians expect clear, transparent action — not slogans — and a firm commitment to preventing a repeat of this event.

Respectfully we urge the Federal Government and the Edo State Government to prioritize rebuilding a new, safe, modern supermarket for the people of Edo State. Construction should begin as soon as possible, with publicly announced start and completion dates so Nigerians can track progress.

Additionally, rebuilding efforts present an opportunity to create meaningful employment. we demand the government to ensure that hiring for reconstruction and related work is simple, transparent, and accessible — requiring only valid Nigerian identification or a valid Nigerian passport, without unnecessary online applications or interviews.

Nigerians deserve swift action, honest communication, and infrastructure that protects lives and supports economic activity. We demand to see decisive steps taken immediately to rebuild, restore, and strengthen safety measures for the benefit of all Nigerians in the 36 states 774 LGA

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.
