Boko Haram terrorists have freed the 416 captives abducted from Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

The hostages — mostly women and children — regained their freedom on Saturday, June 6, 2026, after months in captivity.

Confirming the development, President of the Borno South Youth Alliance (BOSYA), Samaila Kaigama, announced that all 416 captives have been released.

This comes after the March 2026 attack on Ngoshe where the terrorists abducted the victims, issued ultimatums, and even released videos of the hostages.

Details are still emerging... Families and residents are said to be reuniting with their loved ones.
