Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion completed the signing of 18-year-old Nigerian wonderkid winger Zadok Yohanna from Swedish side AIK Stockholm for a record-breaking £21.5 million ⚽🔥.

His £21.5 million transfer makes him the most expensive Nigerian teenager in history, surpassing John Obi Mikel’s move to Chelsea in 2006. It is also the highest transfer fee ever paid for a player moving from Scandinavia to a top European league.

Zadok Yohanna believes the club's philosophy perfectly aligns with his ambitions and attributes. "I watch Premier League games a lot, so I know the teams that use young players, and Brighton is one of them," Yohanna said. "They are really good at developing young talents, and I think their style of play will fit me a lot."

While Yohanna is eager to get started on the south coast, he admitted that leaving AIK was a tough decision. Following his transition to football in Sweden, he built a strong bond with the club. "I had a lot of good people around me who took care of me. Everyone loved me, so it was difficult to leave.”

Zadok revealed he had spoken to head coach Fabian Hurzeler prior to agreeing to come to the club. “He urged me to keep fighting and working hard. I will give everything I have and I really want to win trophies with the team."

Congratulations and best of luck Zadok Yohanna!. We will be rooting for you 💚🤍💚
