I just read that the Minister of Power's sister and her twin sons have been released. Good news, but these stories always leave me with questions.
How exactly are kidnap victims "rescued" with no casualties, no arrests, no surrender, and no details? What happened? Did security forces storm the hideout? Were the victims abandoned? Was a ransom paid? The public deserves to know.
Too often, we hear the same recycled script: "victims rescued" and then silence. Without arrests, prosecutions, or transparency, it becomes difficult to measure progress or hold anyone accountable.
And that points to a bigger problem: the government still doesn't seem ready to confront insecurity head-on.
