United Ika Youths for Hillary Hold Appreciation Meeting, Pledge Support Ahead of 2027 Elections
The political pressure group, United Ika Youths for Hillary, has held a strategic meeting in Ika North East Local Government Area to appreciate its executives and ward coordinators for their contributions and commitment during the last party primary election.
The meeting, which drew members and coordinators from the 14 wards in Ika North East, focused on reviewing activities during the primaries and strengthening grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing members at the gathering, the convener of the group, Comrade Opia, commended the executives and ward coordinators for what he described as their “dedication, unity, and hard work” during the primary elections. He urged members to remain steadfast and begin preparations towards ensuring victory for candidates of their political party contesting various elective positions in the forthcoming elections.
Comrade Opia also disclosed that over 1,036 persons of Ika North East origin had already benefited from a monthly stipend scheme of ₦25,000 facilitated through the World Bank support programme.
According to him, beneficiaries of the first batch who had already received payments should not entertain fears over the funds, stressing that the scheme is neither refundable nor an interest-paying loan programme.
“The first batch that was successfully credited should have no fear over the money because it is not refundable and it is not an interest-paying loan scheme,” he stated.
He further assured members that arrangements were already in progress for the second and third batches of beneficiaries, adding that every participant captured in the programme would eventually receive payment.
Members of the executives, including male and female ward coordinators, expressed appreciation to Comrade Opia for what they described as his kindness, generosity, and commitment to the welfare of the people of Ika North East.
Reports presented by coordinators from the 14 wards indicated steady growth and increasing grassroots support for the group across the local government area. The coordinators maintained that the organization remains united, active, and fully prepared for the 2027 general elections.
The meeting also witnessed the participation of members of the Igbo community in Ika North East, alongside representatives of other ethnic nationalities resident in the area, reflecting what participants described as the inclusive nature of the movement.
