Every challenge Nigeria faces today has a history. None of them appeared overnight. We allowed them to grow.
Take a moment and mention any major problem confronting this country today—whether insecurity, corruption, banditry, kidnapping, or economic sabotage. Each one has an origin. The warning signs were there. Religious leaders spoke. Opposition politicians raised concerns. Security experts sounded the alarm. Yet, as a nation, we often responded with negligence, indifference, or outright denial.
Today, we are living with the consequences of years of looking away while dangerous trends took root. Too often, national interest has been sacrificed on the altar of power politics, while the welfare and security of ordinary citizens have taken a back seat.
This is why we must confront what is confronting us. We must face reality with courage and sincerity.
Mr. President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the weight of this moment ultimately rests on your table. The time calls for uncommon leadership and bold decisions. Let your actions speak louder than words. Remind those who may have forgotten that there is a government in charge and a President entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the nation. Remember, everyone cannot like you because you are not an ice-cream vendor
As Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole once said, nobody has the power to adjust the date of death either forward or backward. Nigeria needs decisive action. Stop everything that seeks to stop this nation. The unity of Nigeria is non-negotiable, and the lives of Nigerians remain sacred.
Where help is needed, seek it. Where reforms are required, make them. Where firmness is necessary, apply it.
Our nation is hurting, but it is not beyond redemption. We must reclaim our future before those who thrive on chaos and division take greater control of it. The time to act is now.
