In the face of Islamist terrorism in Nigeria, the average Nigerian Muslimis is very quick ask, "if the terrorists are truly Muslims fighting a Jihad, why are they unaliving Muslims?".

The answer to this question can be found in Danfodio's Jihad of 1804 against the Habé rulers of Hausaland.

The Habé, who we now know as Hausa people today, were already Muslims as far back as the 11th century when Sarki Ali Yaji converted from Bori (the original Hausa traditional religion) to islam.

However, the wide acceptance and practice of Islam in Hausa city states couldn't dissuade Danfodio from waging a very brutal Jihad against the Habé rulers, genociding their lineage and enslaving the survivors.

Same thing Boko Haram, ISWAP, Fulani bandit-terroristse etc are doing today.

They are one and the same!
