WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2026 🌍

World Environment Day was created to remind us that our environment affects everything β€” our health, economy, security, and future. What started in 1972 as a global movement has become a yearly reminder that protecting our environment means protecting lives too.

In Nigeria, today is not only about planting trees or posting green pictures, conversations about the environment must also include security.

Because an unsafe environment isn't only about pollution or climate change. It is also about communities living in fear, children unable to learn safely, farmers afraid to go to their farms, and families displaced by violence.

A healthy society is one where people can breathe clean air, live on safe land, and move without fear.

As we mark World Environment Day, may we remember that building a better environment also means building safer communities, demanding accountability, and creating a future where both nature and people can thrive.

Protect the environment. Plant a tree. Protect lives. Protect the future. Get your PVC.

Happy World Environment Day!

Kenneth Franklyn: The future starts with actions today
Gladden Ngozi: Today is World Environment Day, but protecting our environment should also mean protecting lives, schools, and communities.
A greener future means little if people live in fear.
Gladden Ngozi: We talk about climate, pollution, and sustainability, but the importance of safety cannot be overemphasized because a society cannot truly thrive when people live in fear and communities remain unsafe.
POULTRY AND FISHERY: Excellent perspective. World Environment Day often gets reduced to tree-planting drives and aesthetics, but you've rightly expanded it to the full human environment. In Nigeria, ecological health and human security are deeply intertwined.
David Onyedikachi: As we strive to protect human lives, we should as well try to protect our environment because that's where we live.
menari personal and family support: Happy world environment day.
Please plant a tree if you can. πŸ˜ƒ
Like mindsπŸ«‚: Most of the problems facing the world today stems from environmental factors. from environmental pollution to deforestation down to global warming as end result, the effect is like a chain reaction whereby the effect of one leads to another and so on. We should use today to not only reflect and pond...
Cephason Skycruz Kings: A powerful reminder that the environment is more than trees and rivers. True environmental sustainability includes creating communities where people can live, work, learn, and thrive without fear. Security and environmental well-being are deeply connected.
Cephason Skycruz Kings: This is an important perspective. When farmers cannot access their farms and families are displaced by violence, the environment is affected just as much as when forests are destroyed or rivers polluted. A safe environment must protect both nature and people.
Culture, The Arts, Entertainment: The future is now. Mother Earth loves us, we must love her back and take care of her everyday. It is our right and duty πŸ©΅πŸ’š
