A Painful Morning in Nigeria
This is a sorrowful day in the land called Nigeria.
A nation blessed with abundant resources and great people is increasingly burdened by insecurity, kidnappings, banditry, terrorism, and the loss of innocent lives. Every day, families wake up to heartbreaking news of loved ones abducted, communities attacked, and dreams cut short.
Kidnapping for ransom has become a thriving criminal enterprise. Many citizens now live in fear, uncertain of their safety while traveling, working, farming, or even sleeping in their homes. The cries of victims and their families echo across the nation, yet many feel that those entrusted with power have not done enough to end this tragedy.
Nigeria should never be a country where criminals celebrate victories while innocent citizens mourn. It should never be a nation where parents fear sending their children to school or where communities are abandoned to the mercy of armed groups.
To the government, security agencies, legislators, governors, and all elected leaders: the protection of human life must be your highest priority. The lives of Nigerians are more valuable than politics, power, or personal interests. Citizens deserve safety, justice, and the assurance that their government stands firmly on their side.
To the youth of Nigeria: our future cannot be built on silence and indifference. We must become active participants in shaping our nation through lawful civic engagement, accountability, community development, and peaceful advocacy. The future of Nigeria belongs to its people, and especially to its young generation.
Oh Nigeria, we weep for you. We mourn for the innocent lives lost to violence. We pray for the families left in grief and uncertainty. We pray for wisdom, courage, and integrity among those who lead us.
Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, history will judge every leader by how well they protected the lives and dignity of the people. Nigerians are crying out for security, justice, and hope. The time to act is now.
And now many Nigerians ask a painful question: Is Nigeria under a curse, or have the actions of those entrusted with power become a curse upon the nation and generations yet unborn?
A country blessed with oil, minerals, fertile land, and millions of talented citizens should not be known for fear, bloodshed, hunger, and despair. Nations are not destroyed by curses alone; they are weakened by corruption, injustice, greed, and the failure of leaders to put the people first.
When innocent citizens are killed and forgotten, when communities are abandoned to terrorists and bandits, when public resources are used for personal gain while the people suffer, the consequences are carried by future generations. The decisions of today will determine whether tomorrow's children inherit a nation of hope or a nation of sorrow.
Nigeria belongs to all Nigerians, not to a privileged few. The blood of the innocent cries out for justice. The tears of grieving mothers cry out for comfort. The fears of struggling families cry out for security. The nation cannot continue on this path.
Let every leader remember that power is temporary, but the impact of their actions will remain long after they leave office. Let every citizen remember that silence in the face of injustice only strengthens those who oppress the people.
Oh Nigeria, we pray for your healing. We pray for peace in every community, justice for every victim, security for every family, and leaders who will place the nation above personal interests. May the day come when Nigeria is known not for kidnappings, killings, and fear, but for unity, prosperity, justice, and hope.
