Côte d'Ivoire stunned France with a 2-1 comeback victory in Nantes just ten days before the World Cup.
Despite France dominating early possession and taking the lead through a brilliant first-half strike by Rayan Cherki, the Elephants fought back. In the 53rd minute, Guela Doué, whose younger brother Désiré Doué was on the French bench, capitalized on a through ball from Nicolas Pépé to equalize. The match remained tightly contested until the 84th minute, when substitute Amad Diallo pounced on a cross to tap in the match-winning goal, sealing a historic and inspiring victory for Côte d'Ivoire.
