Five years ago today, I received an email from ISC2 that marked a significant milestone in my cybersecurity journey:

"Congratulations! Your application for CISSP has been approved. You're now one step closer to certification. Please allow 24 hours for our system to update."

Looking back, it's easy to remember the achievement and forget the sacrifice behind it. Sometimes, the CISSP feels like it was just another certification, but when I reflect on the countless late nights, early mornings, weekends sacrificed, and the sheer volume of material I studied, I am reminded of what it truly took to earn it.

Passing the CISSP on my first attempt remains one of the accomplishments I am most proud of in my career. It wasn't just a test of technical knowledge—it was a test of discipline, perseverance, commitment, and belief in myself.

Over the last five years, that certification has opened doors, expanded my perspective, and strengthened my foundation as a cybersecurity professional.

As I reflect on this milestone, I am equally excited about the future. My goal is to one day serve as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of a great organization, helping shape security strategy and protect what matters most. Beyond that, I aspire to build and grow a cybersecurity consulting company that delivers meaningful value to businesses and helps develop the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

The journey continues, and I remain grateful for every lesson, challenge, mentor, colleague, and opportunity along the way.

Here's to the next chapter.
