That viral TikTok video just “cancelled” him without a court ruling. Chai!

One quiet evening, Chinedu’s phone starts blowing up. A video is trending everywhere on TikTok and WhatsApp: "This man is an abuser and a fraudster! Share and expose him!"

Wahala no dey finish eh!

Within hours, thousands of people are calling him guilty. His name is dragged, his face is everywhere with angry comments, and his reputation is finished even though the court hasn’t said anything yet. No evidence has been properly shown. No witness has spoken under oath.

Hmmmmm. This is exactly what’s happening more and more in Nigeria right now. "Trial by Social Media."
Just like in many recent cases where influencers and viral posts quickly judge people before the real court process begins. Allegations turn into "facts" overnight. Innocent people lose jobs, respect, and peace of mind.
All this is happening while our Constitution in Chapter IV (Section 36) clearly says everyone deserves a fair hearing.

Don't be a terrible wannabe journalist who post everything without proper fact finding.

Bikonu o, let's ask ourselves necessary questions before sharing that interesting content for clicks. Such posts can readily land you in police custody for cybercrimes.
