The Plate of Governance 🍽️
Imagine a Governor from a Northern State in Nigeria, standing before thousands of struggling citizens handing out ceramic plates as "economic empowerment."
Let that sink in.
Not job creation. Not skills training. Not infrastructure. Not education.
Plates.
This is what happens when visionless individuals occupy the highest offices. Instead of formulating policies that tackle endemic unemployment, illiteracy, or our crumbling infrastructure, they resort to paltry, unsustainable gestures that insult the intelligence of the people.
The populace yearns for real opportunities for dignity, for a future. Instead, they're offered superficial solutions that barely scratch the surface of deep-seated economic woes.
A ceramic plate cannot feed a family. It cannot build a road. It cannot educate a child. It cannot create a job.
But it can expose the profound disconnect between those who govern and those who are governed.
When leadership becomes theater, the people become the audience to their own suffering.
