Wealth is a tool. The real question is: what task is it meant to accomplish? Too often, we focus on what we stand to gain in the pursuit of wealth and forget to consider what we may lose along the way our peace, our values, our relationships, or even our sense of purpose. In the end, we arrived with nothing and we will leave with nothing. Wealth is temporary; character is what remains.

It is often said that we cannot truly discover who we are in the absence of options. A person who lacks opportunities may appear disciplined simply because there are no alternatives available. Wealth changes that. It creates choices, removes constraints, and exposes desires that hardship may have kept hidden. When options increase, character is tested in ways scarcity never could.

Therefore, my prayer is that we all prosper enough to afford what we desire, when we desire it, and to the degree we desire it not merely for comfort, but so that we may discover who we truly are. For it is in the presence of abundance and freedom of choice that values are revealed, integrity is proven, and identity becomes clear.
