In January 2014, opposition politician Bola Tinubu posted this tweet about President Jonathan. Screenshot attached. Read it carefully.

His words: "The slaughtering of Christian worshippers is strongly condemnable. It calls into question the competence of Jonathan to protect Nigerians."

He set a standard that day—a presidential standard. Let us now apply it.

May 2026. Schoolchildren and teachers were abducted in Borno. More taken in Oyo. Kwara is next in the headlines. Parents are weeping. Classrooms are empty. The presidency is... silent.

So — borrowing the President's own language from 2014:

"The kidnapping of pupils and teachers in Borno, Oyo, and Kwara states is condemnable. It calls into question the competence of Tinubu to protect Nigerians."

Not my words. His words.

This is what accountability looks like. Not partisan attacks. Not tribal scoring. Just a man's own standard — held up against his own record.

He demanded it of Jonathan. Nigerians are entitled to demand it of him.

The children of Borno did not choose to be born into a war zone. The pupils of Oyo and Kwara went to school. They deserved a president equal to the standard he once proclaimed.

X archives everything. Conscience forgets nothing. And Nigerians — the ones still counting their missing children — are watching.
