The journalist (Choi), who reported the former #THEBOYZ member Ju Haknyeon, on allegations of prostitution, has been indicted on charges of defamation.

It is reported that the prosecution determined that Choi was guilty by stating false facts after reviewing statements from relevant parties and transcripts.

Ju Haknyeon was officially cleared of all prostitution allegations by police. The Seoul Gangnam Police Station dismissed the complaint due to insufficient evidence.

The situation escalated last June when Haknyeon's former agency, One Hundred, unilaterally terminated his exclusive contract and removed him from THE BOYZ following rumors that he privately met with Japanese model Asuka Kirara in Tokyo. Following his departure, Haknyeon firmly denied the prostitution rumors and Asuka Kirara corroborated that they had no physical relationship. The police ultimately found no concrete grounds to proceed with the case, and the reporter who broke the false story now faces a formal trial.
