🤍 A thought from my devotion this morning…

God’s Kingdom does not belong to the self-sufficient.

That stopped me for a moment.

Because if we’re honest, many of us spend so much energy trying to appear strong.

We tell ourselves:
“I’ll figure it out.”
“I don’t need help.”
“I’ll carry it myself.”

But one of the greatest acts of wisdom is recognizing that we were never meant to do life alone.

Jesus said:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:3

The poor in spirit are those who understand their need for God.

The ones with unanswered questions.
The ones carrying burdens.
The ones rebuilding after disappointment.
The ones still showing up, even when life feels heavy.

There is hope for the weary.

There is hope for the person who feels behind.

There is hope for the person quietly fighting battles no one else can see.

Perhaps strength isn’t pretending we have it all together.

Perhaps strength is admitting we need God, we need grace, and sometimes we need each other.

In a world that celebrates self-sufficiency, may we never lose the humility to depend on God.
