The Nigeria Union of Teachers are demanding for the urgent release of kidnapped teachers and learners in Oyo state and other parts of the Country.
They made this known at a solidarity rally organized by the union in the Federal Capital Territory.
The NUT National President Audu Amba says any attack on teachers is an attack on education. He is urging the federal and state governments to swing into action to make the schools safe and secure.
He restated the NUT directive given to Primary and Secondary teachers in Oyo state to down tools, threatening that if the kidnapped teachers and learners are not rescued, the NUT will embark on a nationwide strike.
