POLICE STS-FID BUST NOTORIOUS "ONE CHANCE" KIDNAP SYNDICATE IN FCT

The Special Tactical Squad of the Force Intelligence Department has recorded a major breakthrough in the fight against violent crime with the arrest of a notorious syndicate linked to armed robbery, kidnapping, and the deadly "One Chance" operations across the Federal Capital Territory.

The criminal gang is alleged to have terrorised residents for years, abducting victims, extorting ransom payments, and in several cases, killing their captives even after collecting huge sums of money from their families.

Police investigations revealed that the syndicate was behind the murder of a nurse, Chinemerem Chukwumeziem, in January 2026, as well as the killing of another victim, Chinenye Bridget Abia, in February 2026.
