Your Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 240 million Nigerians are writing to you out of deep concern shared by millions of Nigerians regarding the urgent need for transparency, accountability, and trust in our policing and justice systems. Recent events, including the tragic death of 21-year-old FUTO student Chinedu Chibuzor Christogonus, have once again highlighted the critical gaps in evidence gathering and public confidence.

While the Imo State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with this case, Nigerians continue to ask a fundamental question: what verifiable video evidence exists? In a nation of over 240 million Nigerians, eyewitness testimony alone is no longer sufficient. Human beings can lie, forget, or be influenced. Technology, however, does not.

For decades, Nigerians have struggled with a lack of trust in government institutions, courts, and law enforcement. This is not a partisan issue—it is a national emergency. To rebuild confidence and ensure justice is both done and seen to be done, we respectfully demand the following:

Installation of CCTV cameras across all 36 states and the 774 Local Government Areas.

Mandatory use of body-worn cameras by all police officers during operations, arrests, and public interactions.

These measures will:

Provide objective evidence in criminal investigations.

Protect both Nigerians and police officers from false accusations.

Deter misconduct and abuse of power.

Strengthen the credibility of the Nigerian justice system.

Create millions of jobs for Nigerian youths and graduates through installation, maintenance, monitoring, and data management.

Your Excellency, Nigeria cannot continue relying on outdated systems in a digital world. The safety of Nigerians and the integrity of our institutions depend on decisive action. We urge your administration to champion this reform and make Nigeria a global example of modern, transparent policing.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.
