TINUBU RECEIVES BENIN’S NEW PRESIDENT

Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has received the newly inaugurated President of the Republic of Benin, Romuald Wadagni during a private visit to his Lagos residence

President Wadagni arrived at the Nigerian leader’s residence on Monday and was received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu before holding talks with President Tinubu behind closed doors.

The meeting, which lasted about 30 minutes, comes just over a week after Wadagni’s inauguration as Benin’s president following his victory in the April 12 election.

Vice President Kashim Shettima represented President Tinubu at the inauguration ceremony in Cotonou, where he reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to stronger bilateral ties and regional cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.
