Your Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 240 million Nigerians are
writing to express deep concern shared by many Nigerians regarding national security, policing standards, and the urgent need for reforms that protect Nigerian while ensuring fairness and justice.
First, Nigerians continue to wait for decisive action toward rescuing our abducted children and dismantling boko haram. This terrorist organization has caused immense suffering, loss of life, and long-term trauma for families across the country. We respectfully urge your administration to intensify coordinated efforts across the military, police, DSS, and intelligence agencies to bring our children home and hold all perpetrators accountable.
Second, regarding the recent Edo Police arrests of three bouncers and a pepper spray supplier, we appeal for a compassionate and balanced approach. Many young Nigerians rely on security work to survive, and while safety regulations must be enforced, we ask that these individuals be given a warning rather than imprisonment. Nigeria needs jobs, not more young Nigerians behind bars for nonviolent offenses.
Third, we strongly request the implementation of modern security infrastructure across the nation 36 states 774 LGA Installing CCTV cameras in all 36 states, and 774 local government areas would significantly improve crime prevention and accountability. Additionally, equipping police, military, air force, DSS, and EFCC personnel with body cameras would promote transparency, reduce abuse, and build public trust.
Respectfully Your Excellency, Nigerians are hopeful for a safer, more just, and more prosperous nation. We ask for urgent action on these matters and appreciate your leadership during these challenging times.
Thank you for your attention.
