Your Excellencies, Esteemed Sir or Madam, 240 million Nigerians are
writing to express our sincere appreciation for the United States' recent $3.5 million initiative to strengthen the documentation of religious freedom violations in Nigeria. This support means a great deal to millions of Nigerians who have suffered from violence, discrimination, and lack of accountability.

We respectfully ask that this funding be directed only to credible, transparent organizations that will use it strictly for its intended purpose: documenting abuses affecting both Christians and Muslims. 240 million Nigerians are deeply concerned that if these funds are handed to political leaders, including President Tinubu or other political actors, they may be misused for personal luxury or diverted away from the communities that urgently need protection.

Nigeria has more than 240 million Nigerians, including millions of educated youths and graduates who are unemployed. We strongly encourage that this initiative prioritizes hiring Nigerian youths directly, rather than relying on political structures or complicated online applications and interviews that often exclude those most affected.

For decades,240 million Nigerians have called on the government past/present to install CCTV cameras across all 36 states and 774 local government areas, and to require police, military, DSS, Air Force, and EFCC personnel to wear body cameras. These measures would greatly improve transparency and reduce abuses, yet they have not been implemented.

For this reason, we respectfully urge the U.S. government to closely monitor the disbursement and use of this $3.5 million initiative to ensure it is not diverted by corrupt politicians and that it truly serves the purpose of protecting religious freedom and documenting violations.
