President Bola Tinubu has ordered a specialised rescue operation and approved the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards for Oyo State following the abduction of pupils and teachers from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area. A high-level Federal Government delegation led by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu and Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa, visited affected communities to reassure residents of ongoing efforts to secure the victims’ release. The delegation also pledged to present requests for a military base in the area to the President for consideration. During the visit, officials met with community leaders, traditional rulers and the family of a teacher killed in the attack, conveying the President’s condolences and commitment to supporting victims.
