Ebola Threat: Recent Assessment Shows Nigeria Is Only 59% Prepared - Idris
We can never be 100% prepared because public health threats are constantly evolving, and we do not always know what will happen next. That is why preparedness must be an ongoing process. The recent assessment was conducted to evaluate Nigeria’s level of readiness, identify existing gaps, and determine what improvements are needed. One key area highlighted was our points of entry, which are critical to preventing diseases from entering the country. While we cannot completely eliminate the risk, our goal is to strengthen surveillance and response systems so that if a case does enter the country, it can be detected early and contained quickly before it spreads further.
