One of our greatest national challenges is not a lack of talent, resources, or resilience—it is our short-circuit memory.

We quickly forget yesterday's promises, yesterday's lessons, and yesterday's mistakes. We react strongly to today's events but often fail to connect them to patterns we have seen before. The result is that the same problems return wearing different clothes.

A nation grows when its people remember. We remember what worked, what failed, who served well, who did not, and the price that was paid for past decisions.

Collective memory is a national asset. When memory is short-circuited, accountability weakens, history repeats itself, and progress slows down.

The future belongs to people who learn from the past, not those who constantly forget it.
