This passage from Book of Proverbs teaches three powerful truths:
God's Word is perfect and trustworthy – Every word from God is flawless and dependable. Those who trust Him find protection and security.
Do not distort God's truth – Verse 6 warns against adding to or changing God's Word. God desires honesty and faithfulness in handling His truth.
Seek contentment and integrity – Agur's prayer in verses 7-8 is remarkable. He asks God to keep him from lies and to provide only what he needs each day—not excessive wealth or crushing poverty. It is a prayer for a balanced life that remains dependent on God.
Prayer Points
Father, help me to trust completely in Your flawless Word.
Keep falsehood, deception, and lies far from my life.
Give me wisdom to handle Your Word faithfully and truthfully.
Provide my daily needs according to Your riches and mercy.
Guard my heart from both greed and lack, and teach me contentment.
Be my shield and refuge in every situation.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your perfect and trustworthy Word. Be my shield and protector as I place my trust in You. Keep me from every lie and false way. Provide for my daily needs and teach me to be content with Your blessings. Help me to walk in truth, integrity, and obedience all the days of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏🏽
