Respectfully the former mayor of Blanco, Texas, Mike Arnold, publicly opposed a Peter Obi–Rabiu Kwankwaso partnership.

What he said Mike Arnold, a former Republican mayor of Blanco, Texas, stated on his verified X (Twitter) account that he would not support any Obi–Kwankwaso joint ticket for Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election. His key points included:

He said his mind would “close instantly” to an Obi–Kwankwaso ticket.

He argued that Nigeria “does not need more of the same,” criticizing the idea of pairing the two politicians.

He described Kwankwaso as “the Sultan’s man” and a “sniveling bootlicker to Sokoto,” urging Obi to choose a running mate who is not, in his view, aligned with the Sultan.

He also accused Kwankwaso of introducing Sharia law in Kano.
