TO GOD BE THE GLORY! NOFVI IS 2 YEARS TODAY🎉

On May 31, 2024,Nonye Obi-Nwabunde Foundation for the visually impaired NOFVI was officially incorporated by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

As a foundation dedicated to caring for the blind and preventing avoidable blindness in our society, we are deeply grateful to the Almighty God for how far He has brought us in just two years.

In Caring for the Blind:
NOFVI has annually provided white canes to support easy mobility and independence for persons with visual impairment. We have also donated audio assistive technology to blind students at the School for Special Education Centre, alongside toiletries and provisions in Oji River, Enugu State, Nigeria, to promote inclusive and holistic education for the visually impaired.
To ease economic hardship, NOFVI has also distributed bags of rice to support the feeding needs of the visually impaired in our care.

In Preventing Blindness:
NOFVI has carried out free medical outreaches in 4 rural and underserved communities:
- Eziama Nike, Enugu East LGA – December 20, 2024
- Mbu Amon, Isi-Uzo LGA – April 5, 2025
- Aka Aogha, Ezeagu LGA– December 11, 2025
- Umudioha, Imezi Owa, Ezeagu LGA– April 17, 2026

At every outreach, we conducted blood pressure and blood sugar tests, provided comprehensive eye checks, and issued free eye drops, eyeglasses, and medical advice. We also sensitized communities on the importance of regular eye checkups to prevent avoidable blindness, while creating awareness on the dangers of glaucoma through our outreaches, social media, and radio programs.

As we continue this journey of touching lives, we pray that God will enlarge our capacity and financial resources so we can reach even more people in need.
