The foundation of this country is the rule of law, which means power is limited and not absolute. Neither the FCT Minister nor the President has unfettered authority to override fundamental rights. Nigerians, whether in political parties or informal groups, have the right to own property, assemble, and associate freely. Even unregistered political associations have the constitutional right to meet peacefully. Any attempt to restrict these rights contradicts the Constitution and undermines the principle of the rule of law.
