Your Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 240 million Nigerians are writing to express deep concern about several issues affecting millions of Nigerians across all 36 states and the 774 local government areas.

240 million Nigerians are struggling with the recent confirmation of solar levies in Lagos State. Nigerians are asking why a country blessed with abundant sunlight is imposing charges on solar energy, which should be a pathway to affordable and sustainable power. With over 240 million Nigerians facing high electricity bills, unreliable supply, and persistent darkness, the introduction of additional levies feels like an added burden on already struggling households.

Nigerians also question why solar energy appears to be freely available in government facilities, including Aso Rock, while struggling Nigerians continue to pay heavily for basic access to power. There is a growing call for a national strategy that ensures free or affordable solar energy, free public Wi-Fi/data, and modern infrastructure that supports economic growth and reduces poverty.

In addition, Nigerians are demanding for urgent action on national security. The continued kidnappings, including of schoolchildren, and the unresolved root causes of boko haram since 1999 have left families devastated and communities living in fear. 240 million Nigerians are calling for stronger, more coordinated efforts to rescue abducted Nigerians and address the underlying issues driving insecurity.

Your Excellency, Nigerians want to see bold, compassionate leadership that prioritizes their welfare, safety, and dignity. They are asking for policies that reduce suffering, expand access to essential services, and restore hope.
